Nicola White’s short fiction has appeared in a variety of publications, including New Writing Scotland, Mslexia and Algebra and broadcast on Radio Four. Her first novel, In the Rosary Garden, won the 2013 Dundee International Book Prize.
She now lives on the west coast of Scotland, but was born and brought up in Dublin. A former contemporary art curator and documentary maker, in 2008 she won the Scottish Book Trust New Writer Award. A short story Something in the Pause, commissioned by Artlink Edinburgh was published as a booklet and audio CD. In 2011 she received a major Creative Scotland bursary.
From March 2012 to January 2013 she was Leverhulme Writer in Residence at Edinburgh University’s Nursing Studies department, from whence this blog originates.
